How to Be a Volunteer Kindergarten Coach:

Who coaches Kindergarten soccer? Volunteer parents! Interested? Read more:

You DON'T have to have experience with soccer, although a love of the game is a plus!
You DO have to have a Coach Pass from the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA).
You DO have to take a first level ('Y1') Coach Clinic from WYSA.

MAYSA offers a special 'Kinde' Y1 Coach Clinic through WYSA before the Kindergarten season starts.

Date is:Tuesday April 14th
Location: Break Away Sports Center, 5964 Executive Drive, Madison, 53719
Time: 6 to 9pm

This coach clinic teaches basic techniques for managing practices and play days, specifically geared to our youngest players. It is free to all volunteer kindergarten coaches. Follow the procedure for registration below.

Get your Coach Pass AND Register for the Kinde Coach Clinic at the same time:

Go to the WYSA Kinde Coach Clinic Registration site.
Click on 'e-register'.
Go down to 'If you do not have a Coach Pass Number and would like to register for one and register for an e-Coaching Course, please click the link below.'
This will take you through a two step process: Filling out the 'e-kidsafe' page will register you with WYSA and get you a coach pass, and continuing will register you for the class. Be sure to:
- Choose 'MAYSA Kinde' in the drop down box for 'Affiliated Clubs'.
- Have available for attachment a digital picture if you want to get an actual Coach Pass card.
Continuing, you will be registering for the Kinde Coach Clinic.
At the end, print your registration confirmation and take it with you to the class.
If you followed all of these steps, you should not be charged anything for this registration!

Being a Kinde Coach is a lot easier and more fun than registering to become one! Taking the Coach Clinic is lots of fun too. Wear comfortable clothes and expect to run around (roll on the floor/chase people and kick balls!) on the Break Away indoor soccer field.
