Regent Kindergarten Soccer Program FAQs

Who can sign up through Regent SC? Regent Soccer Club serves kindergarten students in the West High School Attendance area. The following schools are associated with Regent SC:
  • Leopold Elementary
  • Lincoln/Midvale Elementary
  • Thoreau Elementary
  • Franklin/Randall Elementary
  • Van Hise Elementary

  • in addition to the following private schools:
  • Blessed Sacrament
  • Queen of Peace
  • St James
  • Edgewood

(4K students are not eligible for this program.)

Can my child play with her friends? Definitely! Teams are organized by school and neighborhood.

Who coaches the teams? Parents coach! MAYSA* provides a free coach clinic for all who volunteer their time. At this clinic you will learn the latest ideas for teaching very young players the game. The April 16th Breakaway Coach Clinic is the Y1 coach clinic to choose, sign up today! And remember, at this age, it's mostly about letting them play. Regent staff will also offer a pre-season field session for coaches, and provide a curriculum that will allow even novice coaches to plan fun practices.

When does it start and what time do they play? Regent's Kinde program starts April 27th with a pre-season festival, and ends on June 8th with the MAYSA Kindergarten Jamboree at Reddan Soccer Park. Games are generally played on Saturday mornings, between the hours of 9am and 12pm.

Where are the games? Games and practices take place at local parks. Locations include Wingra, Vilas, and Rennebohm parks, and Midvale, Cherokee, Van Hise, and Shorewood schools.

How much does it cost and what's included? $55 will cover a uniform, ball, and flags/cones/and ball bag for the coaches. (It does NOT include shinguards, which are required.)

How can I get my child's schedule? You should hear from your coach after April 1, about your schedule, practices, and field. If you don't hear from a coach, you can contact Regent SC, Becca Mauer, Regent registrar ( Schedules will be posted on the website.

All games are 3 v 3 (with two games simultaneously)

Teamwork, good sporting behavior and fair play are the most important 'skills' each player should develop from this program.
