  Rescheduling CLASSIC League Games
No Classic League game can be rescheduled except for when either of the following two circumstances exist:
  • State Cup conflicts arise that were not predictable (play-in games), or
  • A referee has stopped a game before the second half begins due to weather or field conditions.
All other circumstances do not warrant any changes to the schedule.

Any date selected for a rescheduled game must be at least seven days in the future from the date on which the MAYSA Referee Coordinator is notified in writing about the rescheduled game.

Classic League Games Rescheduled Procedure:

  1. Phone messages regarding game rescheduling WILL NOT BE HONORED. Inform MAYSA's Referee Coordinator in writing the details regarding the rescheduled game via email to lhuttenhoff@maysa.org. Information that is to be included:
    • Team Division Identification, including Gender, Age group, and Division of play: (i.e. G13C-A)
    • Team Names, Home and Away:
    • Original Game Location, Date and Time:
    • New Game Location, Date and Time:
    • Send an email with this information to Linda Huttenhoff, (lhuttenhoff@maysa.org), cc'ing the opposing team's representative.
  2. MAYSA will then re-post the rescheduled game to the Arbiter for referee assigning.
  Rescheduling RECREATIONAL League Games

Games that are cancelled due to weather should be rescheduled. Any other rescheduling of games is strongly discouraged. No team is required to agree the request to reschedule a game. Missing a key player, not having a full team available, or desire to change the venue are not justifiable reasons to reschedule a game. Every effort should be made to adhere to the established schedule.

There are situations that warrant a schedule change. Examples include most or all players involved with a mandatory school event scheduled for the same time, or no coach or manager being available for reasons beyond their control.

Should there be the need to reschedule a game, the rescheduling of games needs to be coordinated between both coaches and the field coordinator. Fields coordinators are listed in the field direction section of this book.

Recreational League Game Rescheduling procedure:

  1. Contact the opposing coach and decide on at least 2 dates and times that work as alternate times for your game. Be sure to consider limited day light hours exist during the fall season (see Sunrise and Sunset Time Table in this book). It is strongly recommended that you give yourself at least 7 days to find a referee for the match.
  2. Contact the appropriate Field Coordinator to check on field availability. Field Coordinators are listed along with the Field Directions.
  3. Once the date and time are confirmed, hire a referee for the rescheduled match. It is common courtesy to first offer the rescheduled match to the referee that was originally hired.
